First bits of planning...
Hello!
If you're reading this, it means you're interested in whats going on here, and I'm very glad that is the case.
Basically, for my upcoming 31st, I'd be very keen to spend some quality time with people like you that I love, walking along a country road, getting into some good chat, sharing pesto penne pasta in hostel kitchens, and then perhaps chatting some more in front of a fire.
In that spirit, I've decided to try and coordinate a rag-tag trip up the West Highland Way in March 2026; walking from Milngavie up to Fort Bill in 7 days. The goal would be to set off on March 7th and reach Fort Bill by March 14th, ending with a fancy stay in a nice comfy hotel. Having said that, I'd be quite keen to stay in hostels and indoors accommodation all the way up the road up too, as the month of March can be bracing. The amount of walking between each stop varies, but it seems to average about 12 miles per day; plenty of time for chatting, strolling, eating, and having some good old stares at all the lovely nature.
For the planned route, see the link below:

If that at all sounds like an appealing prospect, I'd be very happy to have you join for some or all of this wee adventure.
Don't go and book anything yet though!
At this point (November 2025), I'm just in early planning mode; working out where we might stay, and how many people to plan for on each leg. In some cases, it may make sense for all accompanying walkers to book independently (a bunk each in a big hostel), whilst on other nights should no hostel be available, it could be worth pooling our resources and staying as a larger group in a fancier place.
I'm exploring some options and adding these into the table at the link below - please do let me know if there's any you can recommend!
Ideally, I'd be keen to get a sense of how many folk may be interested in each leg, so that we can do some good coordinated group bookings or similar altogether, should that prove to be a wise old move.
Have a look over these links, and as I say, if you are interested in coming along for all or any of the journey, it'd be absolutely lovely to have you sign up, and let me know what you're thinkin'. What would you fancy doing? Which nights? Is this a terrible idea? Should we all just go to Benidorm instead?
